Jalen Green thinks he and Devin Booker have a chance to surprise people next season on the Phoenix Suns.

The Phoenix Suns are quite a tricky team to try and predict ahead of next season. After the Suns traded Kevin Durant to the Rockets, their roster looks quite depleted.

Now, they’re looking to secure some key assets. The biggest priority for the Suns is signing Devin Booker to a two-year, $150 million contract extension.

Another major step the Suns must take is buying out Bradley Beal’s contract. His contract, combined with his dismal play for them, has become a burden the Suns cannot bear anymore.

To replace Beal at shooting guard, the Suns have gotten Jalen Green in the Kevin Durant trade. While he did struggle during his time with the Rockets, Jalen Green is a young star who can develop well.

With a backcourt of Green and Booker, how far can the Phoenix Suns go? Well, if you ask Green, the duo has the potential to shock everyone.

Jalen Green says he’s excited to play with Devin Booker and shock the world

Jalen Green spoke to reporters in his first interview since joining the Phoenix Suns. While taking in the scene at the NBA Summer League in Las Vegas, the former #2 pick looked ahead to next season.

Green shared his excitement over playing for the Phoenix Suns. When talking about Devin Booker, he feels the All-Star guard will have something to prove, and the pair will surprise fans with how they play.

“I feel good. I’m excited. I think it’s gonna be lit. I bet he’s gonna kill. We’re gonna shock the world.”

Green’s excitement and enthusiasm will endear him to the jilted Suns fanbase. While Green has struggled to make a name for himself in the NBA so far, perhaps this move will be the motivation he needed.

If both Green and Booker are able to have stellar seasons, fans of the Suns will be far more optimistic about their chances of rebuilding their team back to contender status.

Phoenix Suns must somehow balance roster after years of mismanagement

Green and Booker might be the starting guards for the team, but the Phoenix Suns need to round out their entire roster soon.

Years of mismanagement under the Mat Ishbia ownership have left the Suns in the worst position among all NBA teams.

They must now rely on shrewd, savvy scouting to land some reliable players. Jordan Ott is already happy with Isaiah Livers, a player the Suns signed on a two-way contract.

But that isn’t enough. The time for splashy trades and big free agent signings is over. The Suns have neither the assets nor the cap space to make that happen anymore.

It is now up to the coaching and scouting departments to ensure that the Suns are able to find some hidden gems in the NBA.
