Jamal Murray Gets Honest About New James Harden Clippers
USA TODAY Sports

If there's one team that's really experienced the new look Clippers with James Harden, it's the Denver Nuggets. Within the past month, Denver has faced the Clippers three times, with each game having very different stories to tell.

In the first game, Denver nearly lost and the Clippers had just added James Harden and Daniel Theis. The second game had Denver narrowly winning again but without Nikola Jokic, Jamal Murray, and Aaron Gordon. The third game had Denver losing, despite being fully healthy.

“I mean of course they have a lot of good players on their roster," Jamal Murray said. "They add Theis [Daniel Theis] as a backup center who is adding them a bit more versatile. They are really good. They are really talented. They are number one in steals, and they are really good offensively. So they are good on both ends. They are a really good basketball team."

The Clippers have the potential to become a great basketball team, but they still haven't become the really good basketball team that Murray is speaking about. LA has won 7 of their last 10 games but still has a ways to go before being an elite team with a good record. Still, Murray gave the team their props.

“They’re good, they’re professional, they’re physical," Murray said. "They have guys that know what the game needs at the time. I think [Russell Westbrook] did a great job coming into the game and impacting it with his energy. I don’t think he scored a whole lot or had a crazy ton of assists, but his energy, his impact on the glass, that feeds off to the unit that he’s out there with. We just have to do a better job of recognizing that in the game, being able to shut that down, not let the crowd get back into it, and now we are trying to fight from behind after a good first quarter. Just little stuff like that, we have to be better at managing the game."

The Denver Nuggets currently have a 2-1 regular season series advantage on the Clippers, but LA looked pretty convincing in last night's win against the defending champions.
