Jamal Murray Puts Denver Nuggets Up 2-0 With Jaw-Dropping Buzzer Beater Vs. LeBron James, Lakers
Ron Chenoy-USA TODAY Sports

The Denver Nuggets looked like they were going to give up home-court advantage to the Los Angeles Lakers in Game 2 of their first-round playoff clash. LeBron James and the Lakers went up by as much as 20 points in the third quarter only for Denver to claw their way back to escape with a near-miraculous 101-99 victory.

Apparently, Jamal Murray had no intention of heading to Los Angeles with the series tied at 1-1.

Denver Nuggets News: Jamal Murray Calls Game Vs. Lakers

After LeBron missed a wide-open three to potentially give the Lakers a three-point lead, the final possession fell to the Nuggets. It was at that point that Murray decided to call game:

Nuggets head coach Michael Malone decided not to call a timeout in the final possession. It turned out to be the right decision as Murray broke the hearts of Lakers fans everywhere with a mind-numbing fade-away jumper over the outstretched arms of Anthony Davis.

2-0.

Murray’s heroic game-winner capped off an astounding come-from-behind victory for the Nuggets, who were in real danger of losing Game 2 on their home floor. Everything was falling for the Lakers in the first half, which saw them go up by as much as 20 points. Unfortunately for LA, Murray just wasn’t going to let Denver lose this one.

This series is far from over, though, with Games 3 and 4 headed to Hollywood. This loss stings for the Lakers, and they will definitely want to return the favor come Thursday night.
