James Harden Made NBA History In Celtics-76ers Game
USA TODAY Sports

On Thursday evening, the Philadelphia 76ers are hosting the Boston Celtics for Game 6 of their second-round playoff series.

The 76ers have a 3-2 lead, so a victory would close out the series.

That said, the Celtics can force a Game 7 back in Boston, which would be on Sunday.

During Game 6, James Harden made NBA history by moving up on the all-time Playoff scoring list.

The 2018 MVP entered the evening with 3,615 career Playoff points and has now moved ahead of Hall of Famer Elgin Baylor (3,623) for 19th on the list.

Following Baylor, the next player for Harden to pass will be six-time NBA Champion Scottie Pippen (3,642).

Via the NBA: "Congrats to @JHarden13 of the @sixers for moving to 19th all-time in Playoff scoring!"

Harden is among the greatest scorers ever, and at just 33 years old, he will likely end his career much higher on the list.

The former Arizona State star entered the night with averages of 22.3 points, 6.1 rebounds, 8.3 assists and 1.7 steals per contest through the first nine games of the 2023 NBA Playoffs.

He is in his second season with the 76ers and helped them finish as the third seed in the Eastern Conference.

In the first round, they swept the Brooklyn Nets, and they will have a legitimate chance to make a run to the NBA Finals.

Whoever wins the series will advance to the Eastern Conference Finals and face off against either the Miami Heat or the New York Knicks.
