Former Mavericks head coach Jason Kidd has settled on his next gig, as he is preparing to join ESPN as a studio analyst, Marc Stein of The Stein Line reports (via Twitter).

Kidd, who was the Mavs’ head coach for the past five seasons before being let go this summer, will be part of ESPN’s pregame and halftime program, Andrew Marchand and Dan Shanoff report for The Athletic (subscriber link), where he will fill the “former head coach” role vacated by Michael Malone when the former Nuggets coach was hired by UNC.

After a Hall of Fame playing career as a point guard, Kidd has been a head coach for 10 of the last 12 seasons. He started his coaching career with the Nets before leaving after one season to join the Bucks, where he stayed for four years. He then served as an assistant coach for the Lakers before moving to Dallas, where he helped lead the team to a Finals berth in 2024.

He holds a career win-loss record of 388-395.
