Jaylen Brown Calls Out Embiid’s Flopping

The Boston Celtics didn’t just lose — they unraveled. And after blowing a 3-1 series lead to the Philadelphia 76ers, Jaylen Brown made sure everyone knew exactly who — and what — he blamed.

Following the Game 7 loss, Brown ripped into the officiating and took direct aim at Joel Embiid, accusing the MVP-caliber big man of flopping and getting rewarded for it.

“Joel Embiid is one of the best bigs ever… but he flops,” Brown said, adding that “this ain’t breaking news.”

That wasn’t even the strongest part.

Brown went further, saying Embiid’s style leads to extra calls and pointing to what he believes is a bigger issue across the league. He also suggested referees had an “agenda” against him, especially when it came to offensive fouls — something that clearly frustrated him throughout the series.

And honestly, this wasn’t random complaining — there’s context.

Brown was hit with 10 offensive fouls in the series, more than any other player, and he felt the whistle wasn’t consistent compared to how other stars are officiated.

Meanwhile, Embiid dominated when it mattered most, dropping 34 points, 12 rebounds, and 6 assists in Game 7 to complete the comeback.

That’s what makes this so interesting.

Brown did give Embiid credit — he acknowledged Boston had no real answer for him — but still doubled down on the idea that flopping and favorable calls played a role in the outcome.

This wasn’t just frustration. It was raw, post-collapse emotion from a team that just became part of history — for the wrong reason.

The Celtics had championship expectations. Instead, they’re heading home early after one of the worst collapses you’ll see, and now the conversation shifts from “title contender” to “what went wrong.”

And Brown just gave you his answer:
Refs. Whistles. And Embiid playing the game a certain way.

Whether you agree or not, one thing is clear — this series isn’t over in spirit. Not even close.
