Jaylen Brown was not happy with the officiating during the Boston Celtics’ loss to the Utah Jazz, with one call hurting the team.
The Boston Celtics have not started the season on the best foot, going 3-5 in their first eight games. The absence of Jayson Tatum is really being felt in Beantown right now.
Payton Pritchard’s three-point shooting woes highlight a big problem for the Celtics and just how poorly they are shooting the ball.
Despite Jaylen Brown’s brilliant offensive performances, the Celtics haven’t been able to put together a winning record. Last night he scored more than any player in the NBA.
And after their loss to the Utah Jazz, Brown was furious with the officiating, feeling that it cost the Celtics a chance to be a .500 team.
Jaylen Brown spoke to reporters about the trip in the fourth quarter of the Boston Celtics – Utah Jazz game, and how the referees seemingly missed the call.
Brown was livid, asking how the referees could make that decisive a mistake in the fourth quarter and cost them the game, especially with how blatant the trip was.
“Man, y’all are gonna get me fined… You can’t have a mistake like that as an official at that point in the game.
“Fourth quarter, minute left in the game or less, and the whole staff blows the f—— call, costs us a game. It’s unacceptable. They made mistakes at different points of the game. But then? It wasn’t good.
“And then they’re telling me we didn’t see it. How did none of you see it? You can’t trip somebody in the fourth quarter and have it just be a no-call. It’s some b——-.”
For fans who might have missed the game, Jaylen Brown’s post-game rant might be a little hard to understand or empathize with.
But one quick look at the clip of the missed call will have fans in total agreement with the Celtics and their frustrations.

Keyonte George very clearly tripped Jaylen Brown. Even if it was unintentional, for it not to be called by the referees at such a crucial point in the game is unbelievable.
Hopefully, the NBA officials look into this issue and make sure to speak to the referees to ensure these kinds of mistakes don’t become deciding factors in crunch time.
