For most of his career, Boston Celtics guard Jaylen Brown's game has done most of the talking. But when it comes to showing love to his teammates, that may be a different story.
During Celtics media day on Tuesday, Brown discussed how deep and talented the team's roster is, pointing out that role players such as Payton Pritchard and Sam Hauser can also take over in games.
However, the Detroit Pistons wound up getting trolled brutally during Brown's attempt to praise Pritchard and Hauser.
"A night we're playing, don't mean to disrespect them, but the Detroit Pistons who have struggled over the last year or two, we're gonna play through Payton, let him go for 30," said Brown. "Play through Sam, let him shoot 10 threes tonight. We're gonna still win the game.
"It don't have to be the normal way, but that gives those guys confidence, that gives those guys ability to run free, and we're gonna need that down the line."

While Brown's comments weren't malicious, perhaps they were uncalled for. For good measure, Brown is also obviously correct about the Pistons' struggles in recent years. They've gone 31-133 over the past two seasons, including finishing the 2023-24 season with a 14-68 mark.
Brown led the Celtics to their first NBA title since 2007-08. While a massive target was on their back entering the new season, the guard's latest comments likely made that target slightly larger.
