Jaylen Brown reacts to Giannis Antetokounmpo's handshake fake

Jaylen Brown returned from a four-game injury absence to help the Boston Celtics overcome the Milwaukee Bucks on Sunday. It was the second time this season that Doc Rivers' team lost to the defending champions.

During the game, Brown and Milwaukee star Giannis Antetokounmpo had some highly competitive moments. Early in the game, Brown and Giannis were going at each other, as they sought to gain an edge. At one point, after a hard defensive possession by the Bucks, Giannis reached out his hand to Brown and quickly removed it before the pair could shake.

After the game, a smiling Brown call Giannis "a child."

Make no mistake, Brown's comments were said lightly. There was no malice there. Instead, it was two competitors who regularly go toe-to-toe enjoying some light-hearted back-and-forth. It makes the NBA fun during the early part of the season.

However, there's nothing lighthearted about the Bucks' current situation. Their loss to Boston was their eighth in their first 10 games. They sit 14th in the Eastern Conference, 8.5 games behind the first-seeded Cleveland Cavaliers.

All the joking in the world isn't enough to uplift the beleaguered locker room. However, things are vastly different in Boston. Despite missing Kristaps Porzingis to begin the season and both Brown and Sam Hauser missing time, Joe Mazzulla's team has continued finding ways to win.

Sunday's game was another example of how these two teams are faring to start the season. Milwaukee got out to a 16-2 lead, yet Boston was back in the driver's seat by the end of the third quarter.

Giannis may continue to play with a jovial demeanor on the court, but off it, he must be worried about his team's plight. Nothing is working for the Bucks right now, and if that doesn't change, this season could be over far before the halfway mark.
