As Jayson Tatum nears a return to Boston's parquet floor, there's been some speculation as to how he might fit back in to a rolling Celtics team that's been led by Jaylen Brown and players starring in their roles.

Some believe that the six-time All-Star could be back for the C's as soon as Friday night against the Mavericks. But what will his workload look like?

In a recently released episode of his "The Quiet Work" documentary, Tatum made it clear what he envisions when he's finally able to overcome last year's playoff-ending Achilles tear.

Jayson Tatum sends message to doctor about NBA return

During episode three of the Celtics star's docuseries, JT is shown visiting his doctor 6 weeks post-surgery where he was told his calf looks "fantastic" and that he should be back to his All-NBA form within six weeks.

“I ain’t coming back to be no role player, doc,” Tatum said in response.

Earlier in the episode, the Eastern Conference Finals MVP admitted that he had some doubts about his comeback early in the process but he was able to overcome them.

“The days after the surgery, I really had some tough moments of like, I really thought it was over,” he shared. “Those first couple of days, it was like I couldn’t move. I needed help scooting up the steps, I needed help with just everything. I had never been in that position before.”

Tatum explains motivation behind 5-part doc

In an interview with Forbes.com, Tatum opened up about the thought process behind his Zero Pressure Productions documentary and what he hopes it's able to do for the people and fans that watch it.

“I would say overcoming adversity, hard work — not just for myself — but the people that have been a part of this journey with me,” Tatum explained. “Whether it be my trainer, the team, my family, the doctors that have helped me through this, my brand partners like Jordan Brand and so forth. It’s kind of highlighting that and for me, I got into this space because I wanted to inspire people. I wanted to create content and create things that people are all different walks of life could be inspired by.”

Tatum's return to the lineup could once again inspire championship hope in Boston's passionate fanbase. The Celtics are currently 41-20 after blowing out the Bucks 108-81 without Jaylen Brown even playing.
