Jayson Tatum’s New Commercial Drops Subtle Hint About His Return to Celtics’ Starting Lineup

Many pundits have brushed off the Boston Celtics coming into the 2025-2026 season. Much of it is due to the expected lengthy absence of Jayson Tatum, who suffered a ruptured right Achilles tendon in the 2025 postseason.

But coach Joe Mazzulla has steered this squad to a probable top-four finish in the Eastern Conference this year. Jaylen Brown has stepped into the role in lieu of Tatum’s absence. But Tatum has progressed well in his workouts, even participating in scrimmages against legitimate NBA-caliber competition.

The question is, when will the 27-year-old make his season debut? Will he even play this year or not? Signs all point out that he’s near his return to the Celtics lineup after a commercial from Amica Insurance dropped.

That one-minute advertisement was very telling. There’s no way that Tatum’s camp would give the go-signal for Amica Insurance to air that kind of content if he won’t play again soon. Multiple reports suggest that his rehab has gone extremely well. Some others even said that Jayson Tatum is well ahead of schedule.

Don’t be surprised if he’s back in the Boston Celtics starting lineup sooner rather than later.

Jayson Tatum Doesn’t Want To Destroy Boston’s Chemistry

Due to Boston’s surprising on-court performance this season, Tatum is wrestling with the idea that his return might hamper his team’s ongoing chemistry on the court.

“If or when I do come back this season, they would have played 50-some odd games without me. They have things that have clicked and have been successful, so there’s a thought in my head like ‘how does that look when I come back?’ Damn, do I come back or should I wait? I contemplate it every single day,” Jayson Tatum shared in a previous interview.

If the Celtics are serious about winning a title, they need Jayson Tatum to play. Jaylen Brown cannot do it all in the postseason. Even an 80% showing coming from the six-time All-Star would be enough to make them a legit contender – at least in the Eastern Conference.
