Jazz will reportedly make every attempt to bring back Mike Conley

Mike Conley's time in Utah might not be over just yet.

According to The Athletic's Tony Jones, the Jazz plan to make every effort to bring back the veteran point guard once free agency begins.

Conley is slated to be one of the NBA's top free agents this summer after earning $34.5 million during the 2020-21 campaign. The 33-year-old averaged 16.2 points, six assists and 3.5 rebounds per game this season while shooting 44.4% from the field and a career-best 41.2% from deep.

The 14-year veteran also earned his first All-Star selection, being named a replacement for Phoenix Suns guard Devin Booker.

While he's been productive in Utah, hamstring injuries have plagued him the last two seasons. Conley missed six weeks during the 2019-20 campaign after injuring his left hamstring and missed time on two separate occasions this season with a right hamstring strain.

Still, the Jazz could face some stiff competition for Conley's services. The Dallas Mavericks are reportedly a "team to watch" in the Conley sweepstakes, among others.
