Jimmy Butler was instrumental in helping the Miami Heat get their first win of the NBA Finals against the Los Angeles Lakers in Game 3 on Sunday night.
Butler had a triple-double in Miami's 115-104 win in Game 3, scoring 40 points with 11 rebounds and 13 assists. While it's something everyone was marveling at following the game, Butler revealed that he doesn't care about personal achievements.
"We won," Butler said, according to ESPN's Malika Andrews. "I could care less about a triple-double. I hope the next game I score zero, and y'all talk like y'all wanna talk, and we win, so I can come up here and say the same thing."
Butler's performance was impressive, but what's more impressive is that he accomplished the feat without the likes of Bam Adebayo and Goran Dragic, who both missed Games 2 and 3 with injuries.
Miami winning the title seemed nearly impossible ahead of Game 3. While it's still unlikely, the club, at least, now has a visible path toward their goal.
The Heat now will shift their focus to evening the series in Game 4 and once again rallying around Butler in order to do so. If the club is without Adebayo and Dragic again, things could get a little more difficult.
