Jimmy Butler didn’t need a box score to steal the limelight on Friday night. Sometimes, the best NBA moments happen on the bench, not on the hardwood. And Golden State’s latest blowout came with a side of pure comedy.
The Warriors were already in control, the crowd was loose, the vibe was playful. That’s when Buddy Hield found himself on the wrong end of a highlight, and Butler, who recently shared a heartfelt message for Jonathan Kuminga, became the internet’s favorite reaction guy.
During Golden State’s 137-103 home win over the Sacramento Kings on January 10, Butler completely lost it after Kings forward Dylan Cardwell dunked on Hield late in the fourth quarter. Cameras caught Butler laughing uncontrollably on the bench, nearly falling out of his seat.
Even Stephen Curry tried (and miserably failed) to hide his own laughter with a towel. The clip was shared on X and quickly went viral. Check out the video below.

The moment summed up Butler and Hield’s running sideline chemistry, which has grown since Butler arrived in the Bay last season. On the court, Curry led the Warriors with 27 points and 10 assists, while Butler added 15 points in 23 minutes. Hield played just four minutes but scored six.
Golden State finally cracked the game open late Friday, using a dominant second-unit surge to bury the Sacramento Kings 137-103 at Chase Center.
The turning point came fast. After three tight quarters, the Warriors ripped off a 13-0 run to close the third, flipping an 84-84 tie into full control. Stephen Curry had already done his damage, pouring in 6 threes and stacking 10 assists before sitting most of the fourth.
That separation belonged to the bench. Jimmy Butler anchored the group, while De’Anthony Melton caught fire with nine points during the burst. Crisp ball movement followed. So did the knockout. Golden State shot 54.7%, logged a season-high 39 assists, and never let Sacramento breathe again.
