Jimmy Butler had words for Nets rookie

Jimmy Butler gave a Brooklyn Nets rookie a lesson on talking trash.

Late in the third quarter of Monday’s game between the Golden State Warriors and the Nets at Barclays Center in Brooklyn, N.Y., Butler put the ball on the floor and challenged the defense of Brooklyn rookie forward Danny Wolf.

Butler scored on a pull-up jumper while also drawing a shooting foul from Wolf. As if that was not enough to embarrass the former Michigan Wolverines star, Butler targeted Wolf with some seemingly colorful words after.

Veterans like Butler always find pleasure in giving first-year NBA players a rude welcome to the league, and Wolf was unfortunate enough to get such a harsh verbal treatment from one of the league’s most intense individuals.

Butler did more than just punish Wolf, as he helped the Warriors eke out a 120-107 win over Brooklyn, scoring 21 points on the strength of an 11-for-12 shooting from the free-throw line, grabbing 5 rebounds and dishing out 4 assists in 31 minutes. Stephen Curry paced the Dubs with 27 points on 8-for-15 shooting from the floor, including five 3-pointers.

Wolf, on the other hand, laid an egg, as he missed his only two attempts from the field in 20 minutes of action.
