The Golden State Warriors beat the Houston Rockets on Monday to take a commanding 3-1 lead in the best-of-seven series. Jimmy Butler returned to the lineup after missing Game 3 and played well, finishing with 27 points, five rebounds, and six assists in 40 minutes.
The Warriors had five players score in double-figures in Game 4: Butler, Brandin Podziemski, Steph Curry, Buddy Hield, and Quentin Post. Golden State is now one win away from advancing to the second round of the playoffs for the first time since 2023.
Butler and Hield are playing in their first postseason with the Warriors. Golden State acquired Butler from the Miami Heat and Hield from the Philadelphia 76ers. Both players have helped the Warriors take a 3-1 lead over the Rockets, who are the second seed in the West.
However, Butler looks to be in the mood to extend his friendly banter with Hield further. At the postgame press conference, when asked about Hield’s performance, Butler didn’t want to name his teammate by name.
"I hate to give Buddy a compliment, so I’m not going to, but No. 7 on our team really brought the defensive mentality tonight, made some big shots," Butler said and then with a smile added, "He stinks."
"He stinks."

Butler has been playfully roasting Hield ever since the Warriors-Heat trade in February. The two don't have beef and are friends who just like to tease each other from time to time.
Game 5 between the Warriors and Rockets is on Wednesday in Houston. Golden State won Game 1 on the road, so the team has proven it can win in a hostile environment.
Curry and Draymond Green (4-0) have never lost a postseason series to the Rockets. With the help of Butler and Hield, Curry and Green are once again dominating Houston.
