Jimmy Butler's last-second heroics help Heat eliminate Bucks in five games

Jimmy Butler put home a circus-shot lob with 0.5 seconds left in the fourth quarter to force overtime, ultimately helping the Miami Heat knock off the Bucks in Game 5, 128-16, to win the first-round best-of-seven series, 4-1.

Despite trailing the Bucks by 16 points in the third quarter, the Heat outscored Milwaukee 32-16, led by another remarkable comeback by Butler and company. In the extra session, Miami fended off the Bucks to become only the sixth No. 8 seed in NBA history to knock off the top seed.

According to ESPN Stats and Info, the Heat's 16-point comeback is the largest by a team in the fourth quarter of a series-clinching game.

Butler finished with 42 points, shooting 17-of-33 from the field and 3-of-10 from beyond the arc, adding eight rebounds, four assists and two steals.

Guard Gabe Vincent ended the night second on the Heat in scoring with 22 points, and center Bam Adebayo had a triple-double, posting 20 points, with 10 rebounds and 10 assists before fouling out in overtime.

Meanwhile, Kyle Lowry, who also fouled out late, had 10 points in limited minutes, and Miami got something out of veteran Kevin Love, who tallied a double-double, finishing with 15 points and 12 rebounds.

It's a bitter end for the Bucks, whose season ends abruptly after posting the best mark in the NBA (58-24) during the regular season. However, the Heat took full advantage of Giannis Antetokounmpo not being at 100 percent and are off to the second round because of it.

Butler and the Heat draw the New York Knicks in the Eastern Conference semifinals. To advance, the Knicks eliminated the Cleveland Cavaliers in five games on Wednesday night.

The Knicks will host the Heat for Game 1 at Madison Square Garden Sunday at 1 p.m. ET.
