If a player is injured, then it makes sense for them to prioritize their health. While it is feasible for players to play through smaller injuries through the regular season, it is clear that serious injuries can impact someone's career.

Joel Embiid of the Philadelphia 76ers has been diagnosed with a torn meniscus earlier in the playoffs. While he missed the last game of the 76ers' series against the Washington Wizards, Joel Embiid has played every game during the series against the Atlanta Hawks. In a post-game interview shared by Malika Andrews, Joel Embiid explains his rationale for playing through the meniscus injury.

It's tough. Playing on a torn meniscus is not easy... Just gotta manage it... You know it's tough, but its the playoffs, so can't complain. I'm here to play... whatever I can do, I'm gonna give the best I've got. Even if I’m playing injured, I still got to do my job. That’s why they pay me. I want to win a championship. So that's my goal, and I'm gonna do whatever it takes.

While Joel Embiid still has to be careful and watch out for his body, it is pretty commendable that he has been leading the 76ers on the court, despite suffering an injury. Hopefully, Joel Embiid stays healthy for the rest of the playoffs, and is able to bring his squad to many more victories.
