The Orlando Magic committed a boatload of money to their young core on Monday.
Shortly after signing Markelle Fultz to a three-year, $50 million deal , the Magic signed Jonathan Isaac to a four-year, $80 million extension, according to ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski.

Isaac was well on his way to a breakout year during the 2019-20 season, averaging 11.9 points, 6.8 rebounds and 1.4 assists per game while shooting 47% from the field and 34% from deep. However, a left knee sprain and bone bruise sidelined him until January. He then participated in the NBA's restart at Walt Disney World, but suffered a torn ACL.
While the 23-year-old will miss the entire 2020-21 season due to the ACL tear, the Magic wanted to prevent him from reaching unrestricted free agency in 2021 by locking him up for the foreseeable future.
Orlando finished the 2019-20 campaign with a 33-40 record, losing to the Milwaukee Bucks in the first round of the playoffs.
