Former Los Angeles Lakers guard Jordan Goodwin has cleared waivers and will sign with the Phoenix Suns, per ESPN’s Shams Charania.

Goodwin was waived from his two-way contract earlier in the week. Charania described him as “a gritty, upside pickup for the Suns backcourt.”

Goodwin, 26, is 6-foot-3 and has proven capable of handling either guard position. The well-traveled veteran has made multiple NBA stops, including a previous one with Phoenix (2023-24). He appeared in 40 games with the Suns that season.

His best stretch also came during that season, with the Memphis Grizzlies, when he averaged career highs of 10.0 points, 8.0 rebounds and 4.5 assists in 17 games.

Last season, Goodwin joined the Lakers on a two-way contract in February, before being signed to a standard deal in March. With L.A., he appeared in 29 games and averaged 5.6 points and 3.9 rebounds.

He was waived to help create room for the Lakers to sign veteran guard Marcus Smart.
