Josh Hart Admits Culprit in New York Knicks’ Game 4 Loss Vs. Indiana Pacers
Bill Streicher-USA TODAY Sports

The New York Knicks have found themselves in a predicament after the Indiana Pacers tied their series with two games each. Shortly after, Josh Hart admitted responsibility in his team’s Game 4 loss to their opponents.

Heading into Game 4, New York had the 2-1 lead over the Pacers. That all changed when All-Star guard Tyrese Haliburton led Indiana to a 121-89 win over the Knicks by dropping 20 points, six assists, and five rebounds. TJ McConnell tallied 15 points from the bench, while Obi Toppin and Pascal Siakam each added 14 points.

As compared to the Pacers’ balanced attack all over the lineup, the Knicks only had Jalen Brunson, Alec Burks, and Miles McBride carry the offensive load for their team by combining for 54 points. Everyone else on New York’s roster just contributed a total of 35 points.

New York’s 37 percent effective field goal rating was significantly lower than the Pacers’ 64 percent. While the Knicks committed fewer turnovers and grabbed more offensive rebounds, their failure to shoot better proved to be the nail in the coffin for them. In the end, the momentum has now transferred to Indiana’s side while Brunson and company need to overcome OG Anunoby’s absence to win the series.

Josh Hart Takes Responsibility For New York Knicks’ Game 4 Loss Against Indiana Pacers

Along with Skip Bayless’ take on how the Pacers turned the series around, Josh Hart dropped his take on his role in the team’s recent Game 4 loss. In a post shared by Fred Katz on X:

Josh Hart said that he puts the Game 4 loss “on my shoulders” because he’s “someone who brings energy, brings hustle, the kinda things I didn’t do today.”

He added, “It’s time to get better,” Katz tweeted.

Over the course of four games, Hart is averaging 13.8 points, 12.3 rebounds, 5.3 assists, and 1.5 steals in 40.7 minutes per contest. At the same time, he’s also hitting 57 percent of his field goals, 42 percent from deep, and 66 percent from the free-throw line.

Even though he has been putting up great numbers, Hart will have to do more if the Knicks want to advance to the next round. Otherwise, all the hard work they’ve done will amount to nothing.
