They advanced in entertaining fashion, too.

Despite fighting "flopper" chants and discourse regarding his foul-drawing antics, Jalen Brunson got the final laugh against the Detroit Pistons.

The series was exciting, providing the physical play that NBA fans yearn for, though the Knicks got off to a 3-1 series lead.

Detroit won Game 5, extending the series by just one game, though Brunson ensured it was stopped there.

The Knicks secured a 116-113 victory behind 40 points from the Villanova product.

With the game squared away at 113 points apiece, the New York superstar nailed a 3-pointer, with the squad then getting a stop and ending the series.

One again, the Tom Thibodeau-led team saw its starters play heavy minutes, but they delivered.

Never mind the late push from the Pistons, the Knicks are on to the second round, where they'll aim to take down the Celtics, whom they failed to take down in the regular season.
