Jrue Holiday Defends Grayson Allen: “I Feel Like Those Are The Type Of Guys We Recruit And We Love Playing With. Grayson Didn't Do It On Purpose. We Know That And He Knows That, So He Knows That We Have His Back."

Grayson Allen is one of the hottest topics around the NBA right now and not precisely for the right reasons. The Milwaukee Bucks player starred in a controversial moment Friday night when he tried to stop Alex Caruso and hurt the Chicago Bulls guard on the way to the rim.

Besides being called out by Caruso and Bulls head coach Billy Donovan, Allen received plenty of criticism from fans, who called him a dirty player and asked the NBA to suspend him for as long as Caruso remains inactive. The former Los Angeles Lakers player will be out for 6-8 weeks, which granted Allen more hate from Bulls fans and the entire NBA community. 

On the other hand, Allen found support in his teammates, and Jrue Holiday came on his defense in the aftermath of the incident. The 2021 NBA champion praised Allen, saying he's a great player, one that he loves playing with. Jrue, however, clarified that Grayson didn't hurt Caruso on purpose. 

"We're always going to be a team, we're going to be brothers."

"Grayson, we know Grayson. He's not that type of player," Holiday said, via Jim Owczarski of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel. "He didn't do it maliciously and he didn't want to see Caruso get hurt. I feel like those are the type of guys we recruit and we love playing with. Grayson didn't do it on purpose. We know that and he knows that, so he knows that we have his back."

Allen has a record of being a dirty player and NBA fans recalled that when he attacked one of the most beloved players in the league. Caruso didn't like what he did and called him out, but now fans want the league to punish him and set an example. Chicago will host Milwaukee next March 4, and Allen will probably receive more boos than ever before in his life.
