The Minnesota Timberwolves have been part of a busy offseason, which included the 2025 NBA Draft and then re-signing several key roster members. Specifically, fans are likely to see Naz Reid and Julius Randle playing for the team next season.
However, the Timberwolves lost several players to free agency, with Luka Garza and Josh Minott heading to the Boston Celtics. More recently, free agent Nickeil Alexander-Walker joined the Atlanta Hawks.
The shifting NBA landscape has seen many players traded or sign with new teams as free agents throughout the year, including the recent offseason. Beyond the blockbuster Kevin Durant trade, the Milwaukee Bucks recently waived All-Star Damian Lillard and signed Myles Turner, formerly a member of the Indiana Pacers.
Additionally, it is expected that the Utah Jazz's Jordan Clarkson will sign with a new team, with the New York Knicks among the most likely destinations.
Earlier this year, the New Orleans Pelicans traded Brandon Ingram to the Toronto Raptors. Due to his recovery from an ankle injury, the team shut him down for the season after he signed a three-year, $120 million contract extension, per ESPN's report.
Randle was teammates with Clarkson and Ingram on the Los Angeles Lakers during the 2016-17 NBA season. While Randle and Clarkson were already on the team for several seasons by then, the Lakers added Ingram via the 2016 NBA Draft.
Much like the three-time All-Star Randle, both Ingram and Clarkson have played for several different teams in their ongoing NBA careers.
During part of a recent live stream video captured and shared on X, Randle expressed some thoughts on his former Lakers teammates, including Ingram.
"BI? Man, I love BI. Y'all want me to make a starting five with my teammates, that's really, really hard to do. I've played with a lot of great players," he said.
The Timberwolves star seemingly indicated he "absolutely" follows and stays in contact with his former Lakers teammates, including Clarkson and Ingram, referring to them as his "brothers forever."
"I love seeing everybody getting paid. Staying in this thing, man," Randle said in another X clip.

On Monday, ESPN's NBA insider Shams Charania reported that Clarkson will sign with the Knicks upon clearing free agency waivers. That involved finalizing a contract buyout with his previous team, the Jazz, to become an unrestricted free agent.
As of this writing, it's unknown how much he will sign for with the Knicks, but he could accept an offer for the veteran's minimum, according to the New York Post.
According to NBA.com, Randle is also getting paid, having signed a three-year, $100 million contract extension to remain part of the Timberwolves.
He'll reunite with fellow All-Star teammate Anthony Edwards, someone Randle might also include as a teammate on his all-time starting five.
