According to a report from On3’s Joe Tipton, Kansas State basketball has landed a commitment from Bowling Green transfer forward Marcus Johnson.
The 6-foot-7 big man averaged 16.2 points, 5.0 rebounds, and 1.8 assists per game for the Falcons last season, shooting 43% from the field, 39.4% from three, and nearly 90% from the free throw line.
He’s proven capable of playing at a high level against elite competition, too, putting up 23 points against Michigan State to lead all scorers in the 86-72 loss.

A native of Akron, Ohio, Johnson attended St. Vincent-St. Mary High School, the very same place that produced LeBron James—and like James, he led the Leprechauns to multiple state championships, winning back-to-back titles in 2016-17 and 2017-18.
Prior to his lone season with Bowling Green, Johnson played three years at Wheeling University (Division II), and averaged 21.6 points per game in his last season there.
Johnson is the fifth portal addition for Jerome Tang and the Wildcats in this cycle, but might not be their last. According to reports, the Wildcats could be on the verge of landing an All-American transfer out of Memphis.
