Sunday's New York Knicks–San Antonio Spurs matchup featured two top teams from opposite conferences. It was their third meeting of the season, after the Spurs edged the Knicks 134–132 on New Year’s Eve.
Mikal Bridges delivered a team-high 25 points, while Jalen Brunson added 24 points and 7 assists, leading the Knicks to a dominant 114–89 victory. Karl-Anthony Towns secured a double-double with 12 points and 14 rebounds, as New York took the season series 2–1.
But a moment from the third quarter is making rounds on social media. The Knicks were leading 54–43 with 10:27 remaining when Karl-Anthony Towns went up hard into the post and drew a whistle.
Referees called an offensive foul on Towns after he collided with Victor Wembanyama, who went down to the floor. The clip has since turned viral online, quickly surpassing 300K views in 30 minutes.
Following the call, Towns looked on the bench and told his teammates, “He’s 7'4" 260!” per ESPN, which is a dry reference to Wemby's size. Towns and his teammates laughed. However, the internet was not letting it go.

“Wemby flopping, that's pro bumps ong," one fan wrote.
Another viewer added, "Yup, Wemby did flop."
A third one noted, "Wembanyama so inspirational man. Showing there's no height limit to being a flopping baby."
The fourth fan claimed, "Wemby is a flopper, every time there's contact he's throwing his head and arms around. That's y'all goat though."
A random X user penned, "Skinny tall dude can’t handle a little contact. He’s overprotected."
Wembanyama averages 23.7 points and 11.2 rebounds, and his résumé as a generational talent is not in question. But seeing a 7-foot-4-inch player fall back on Towns' post-up always draws attention online.
