Karl-Anthony Towns Issues Response to Jalen Brunson Video
Geoff Burke-USA TODAY Sports

The New York Knicks made headlines this offseason when they decided to part ways with head coach Tom Thibodeau after five seasons. He helped lead the Knicks to the No. 3 seed in the Eastern Conference and took on the Detroit Pistons in the opening round of the playoffs, defeating them in six games.

That set up a matchup with their rival and defending champion, the Boston Celtics. The Celtics held sizable leads in the first two games of the series, but each time, the Knicks overcame the deficits to go on to win and ultimately won the series in six games.

In the Eastern Conference Finals, the Knicks met a familiar foe in the Indiana Pacers. It proved to be just the latest chapter in their already storied "Hicks vs Knicks" rivalry that stems back to the 1990s. While the Knicks gave it all they had, the Pacers got the best of the Knicks for the second postseason in a row.

Jalen Brunson took home the league's Clutch Player of the Year award and showed exactly why in many instances throughout the playoffs. But down the stretch, the Knicks didn't have enough up their sleeves outside of Brunson and Karl-Anthony Town isolations.

A video of Brunson recently went viral of him slamming home a windmill dunk in an open gym. Towns couldn't help but react when he saw the video, joking with Brunson.

"AI different these days," Towns said.

While the Knicks' offense was effective last season, it often struggled to maintain its momentum and lacked creativity at times. With Mike Brown now the head coach, they are likely to play at a different pace this season.

The Knicks look at the move for Brown as the one that'll put them over the top and help them compete for their first title since 1973. If they fall short, the New York media will be quick to remind him of it.
