Russell Westbrook is one of the best point guards in the league, but there's no doubt that Westbrook causes controversy among fans and analysts due to his playing style. Russell Westbrook is known for his triple-doubles, which are hard to get in the first place.

However, some people think that Russell Westbrook's triple-doubles don't necessarily tell the whole picture, blasting him for his poor defense and turnovers. Russell Westbrook has been a very hot topic lately, due to the Los Angeles Lakers currently being on a 5-game losing streak. Some have even suggested that he should be traded.

Karl-Anthony Towns has recently weighed in with his opinion on Russell Westbrook, claiming that the point guard "gets stats and "chases stats", but added that he's a "helluva player". Towns also claimed that sometimes Westbrook "plays too quick" and "tries to do too much" but reiterated that Westbrook is still a good player.

He definitely gets stats. He chases stats. I think he's a helluva player though. You know how hard it is to get a triple-double... and he plays hella hard. I just think that sometimes he plays too quick. He tries to do too much. Trust your teammates, move around a little bit. He's a helluva player bro.

There is no question that Russell Westbrook is extremely talented. One does not simply win an MVP award when being bad. Even though a lot of fans may blame him for the predicament the Los Angeles Lakers are in, it is likely that the team would be even worse if he weren't playing.

Some criticisms of Russell Westbrook are valid. But he is still a positive influence on any given team, and he provides a lot of useful things on the offensive end of the floor. Hopefully, we see him perform well for the Lakers going forward, and perhaps we'll see Russell Westbrook prove his haters wrong.
