Stephen Curry has built a legacy for himself over the past 16 years. His loyalty to the Golden State Warriors has become a shining example to the rest of the league, and his exploits, both individual, and team accomplishments, have become a beacon for young players.
Many point to his humble nature, that tends to change to an exceptional motivation when he takes to the basketball court as a reason for his success. Others point to the fact that Curry has single-handedly changed the game.
One of the prime reasons for that is his ability to dominate despite his 6′ 2″ frame. When most of the all-time greats are much taller than him, the Akron native gave the world a glimpse of how shorter players can thrive.
That has helped to expand the NBA’s global outreach as normal people of regular height started to get inspired and pick up a basketball. No longer was it a requirement to be tall to succeed in the game, and that change had the 37-year-old‘s fingerprints on it.
For instance, comedian Katt Williams is 5′ 5″ and loves playing basketball. While he was on the 7PM in Brooklyn podcast, the cast asked him if he had anything to do with Stephen Curry‘s game early on.
I was explaining to him that the way that I play basketball is, there is no such thing as, ‘I’m not Open’. I’m always open. I’m going to all five spots every time. If you notice, that’s how Steph plays.
Katt Williams said
Steph Curry became the GREATEST Shooter thanks to Katt Williams?

He claims his game is similar to the Golden State Warriors’ star’s, whereas shorter players, he runs across the court to get open. He did not address his claim of helping a young star become one of the greatest ever, but did not deny it either.
Six months ago, while on the Vulture podcast, comedian Katt Williams was asked if the rumors were true of him coaching up a young Stephen Curry. He claimed that everyone knows that he does not make claims which are untrue.
I am responsible for the greatest shooter in the NBA, without question. I said, ‘Hey, dude. You’re out here making 5 grand for a celebrity basketball game, but you’re one of the great shooters that ever existed. Do you understand that if you take your game to the NBA that they either have to change something or you’ll be the greatest shooter that ever existed.’

Williams added that he is not sure if the four-time champion worked on his suggestions. However, by the looks of it, he believes the Warriors star has worked on his game just as the comedian asked him to.
Curry is now in his offseason. While taking part at the American Century Golf tournament, the 37-year-old was making his way towards a section when a fan asked him what his preference between a 5th NBA title and the Augusta Masters would be.
You know the answer to that.
Stephen Curry replied
The two-time league MVP has time-and-again made it clear that he would like to win a 5th NBA title before he retires. Last year, they had a chance, but knows the team needs work before they can fight for one.
“You know the answer to that.”

Even if he is good enough to compete for the Masters, winning that 5th ring will bring him greater joy. After all, he has spent his entire life working towards becoming one of the all-time greats.
