Monday’s Game 4 matchup between the Golden State Warriors and Minnesota Timberwolves is a massive one for both teams.
Golden State had a solid start to the game as they led by one point at the end of the first quarter then took a two-point lead into halftime.
Things changed quickly in the second half, though, as the Timberwolves and their star Anthony Edwards came out strong, outscoring the Warriors 39-17 in the third quarter to take a sizeable lead into the fourth quarter.
Golden State has been able to cut into the lead some to start the fourth but they will have to make a large comeback to avoid falling behind 3-1 in the series without their injured star point guard Stephen Curry.
While the Warriors may be heading towards a loss in Game 4, they once again saw their young forward Jonathan Kuminga step up huge.
In the game, Kuminga has scored 21 points in 25 minutes off the bench and he is also coming off a 30-point game in Game 3 on Saturday.
Of course, head coach Steve Kerr has moved Kuminga back into the rotation after benching him earlier in the playoffs, which drew criticism and that continued on Monday night as ESPN analyst Kendrick Perkins took a shot at Kerr.
“I hope Kuminga get the hell away from Steve Kerr. He’s not the Coach for this young talented and Athletic young Star. He really need an opportunity to spread his wings. Kerr really had this man outta of the rotation,” Perkins said on X.

Perkins did not hold back about Kerr’s questionable decision during the early part of Golden State’s playoff run and he does make a good point.
With Kuminga being a restricted free agent after the season, his future with the Warriors is in the air and with his benching earlier in the playoffs, he could elect to move to a new team next season.
Despite this, Kuminga has played his way back into the Warriors’ rotation with his incredible play but he and Golden State have a serious decision to make this summer.
