The Milwaukee Bucks have been active in the offseason, but they aren’t done just yet.
The biggest addition to the roster was former Indiana Pacers star Myles Turner. Turner joined the Milwaukee Bucks on a four-year, $107 million deal.
Even though the Bucks had to waive Damian Lillard to make room for Turner, it was an excellent signing to give Giannis Antetokounmpo more help next season.
Aside from that, the Bucks have made several other moves, including re-signing Gary Trent Jr., Bobby Portis , and Kevin Porter Jr.
ESPN analyst Kendrick Perkins recently made an appearance on the Road Trippin’ podcast, where he talked about the Bucks’ 2025 offseason moves.
Speaking of which, Perkins was impressed with the Bucks’ re-signings and additions so far this summer.
“If you put Myles Turner on the Bucks, I think they are going to finish a top-six seed in the Eastern Conference. Giannis Antetokounmpo has consistently been the best player over the last decade.
“He’s going to give you 30 and 12 per night. I personally think he’s going to have another MVP-caliber season. I actually like the pieces that they have over there with the Milwaukee Bucks,” Perkins said.
He added: “I actually like what Gary Trent Jr. brought to the table last season. We know he had his little moment in the playoffs where he couldn’t catch the pass but he also dropped 30 a few times.”
While the Bucks have made some fairly decent signings, Perkins still backs the team to make additional moves before the 2025-26 NBA season kicks off.
“So, when I look at this squad, do I think they’re done? No. I do think they could do a few more moves. I love the kid [Kevin] Porter Jr, I think he’s a hooper,” Perkins stated.
With Lillard’s departure, the Bucks need to take a good look at available point guard options to have a talented floor general on the roster next season.
One option is to sign Russell Westbrook, who opted out of his $3.4 million player option with the Denver Nuggets. However, Perkins wants the Bucks to try and acquire 40-year-old Chris Paul.
“Can you go get a Chris Paul? He wants to be a starter and I’m hearing he wants to stay closer to home, but if you’re Chris Paul, you’re looking at this situation like, ‘Damn, I did hoop for Doc, they do need a point guard, I can set the table for them,'” Perkins continued.
“I’ve got a pick-and-pop guy in Myles Turner and Bobby Portis. I’ve got a dynamic roller in Giannis Antetokounmpo, and I can knock down the three-ball. Yeah, I might consider that,” he concluded.
Despite being one of the oldest free agents on the market right now, Paul can still run the offense well. After all, he did average 7.4 assists per game for the San Antonio Spurs last season.
