Kevin Durant And Grayson Allen Clarify Emma Stone's Waves Toward Suns Bench
Mark J. Rebilas-USA TODAY Sports

Social media was sent into a frenzy during the game between the Phoenix Suns and the Los Angeles Lakers on Thursday night. In the fourth quarter of the contest, it appeared that Emma Stone was waving toward Grayson Allen, but both he and Kevin Durant have said that wasn't the case.

"I think she waved at just the whole team," Durant said. "She was talking to the whole team, to be honest. Didn't seem like she singled out Grayson. She just supports our whole team. It's always good when superstars and people come in here and watch us and support us. So, we wanna put a good product on the floor."

"Yes, I did," Allen said when asked if he got a laugh out of watching the clip. "... It's so funny how there's a frame of something, it looks so out of context Steve, and I watched it and I don't think she even said bye to me or looked at me. But in the video, it looks like we're looking directly at each other."

As Allen said, it might appear from the video that she was waving at him, but she wasn't. Stone was at the game and briefly spoke to the team there because she is a Suns fan, a fact that many are unaware of.

She was born and grew up in Scottsdale, Arizona, and has attended games in the past as well. As for what led to her becoming a fan, she revealed a few years earlier that it was the Last Dance documentary.

"This is a new thing for me," Stone said on The Ellen Show when asked about her attending a Lakers-Suns game. "I mean I've always loved basketball, I watched the Last Dance with Michael Jordan, the Michael Jordan documentary, and that just, something flipped in my brain and body. And I was like, this is the most incredible sport. So now I'm a next-level Suns fan."

(starts at 1:02 mark):

It is incredible how a documentary about Jordan turned Stone into somewhat of a die-hard Suns fan.

Video Shows Emma Stone Dapping Up Devin Booker And Bradley Beal

While Stone said a few words to the whole team on her way out, a video from a different angle shared by TMZ shows her waving at Devin Booker . Stone shook hands with Booker and Bradley Beal in the video, after which she can be seen waving at Booker.

With Stone being a Suns fan, you'd assume she has known Booker for some time now. The two even posed for a picture last year.

She was all smiles there and that was the case when she walked out of the arena last week as well, as the Suns were blowing out the Lakers. Phoenix would go on to win 127-109 on the night and that victory snapped a two-game losing streak. Booker and Beal both had 30-point games to lead the way while Durant had 18 and Alen had 5.

The Suns' fortunes certainly have turned since Stone showed up at the game. They had lost three of four prior to that, but have now won three in a row. The latest win was an incredible 22-point fourth-quarter comeback, as they beat the Sacramento Kings 119-117 to improve to 22-18 on the season.
