Kevin Durant Is On Track To Make NBA History

As long as Kevin Durant is on the floor and healthy, the Brooklyn Nets will be a legit NBA championship contender.

Love him or hate him; he’s one of the most gifted and impactful players to ever lace them up, a guy who’s made a strong case for being the greatest pure scorer in NBA history.

In fact, according to NBA on ESPN, KD is on pace to have the highest true shooting percentage (67.2%) for a player averaging 30+ points per game (30.1) in league history, even higher than Wilt Chamberlain.

As great as he is, fans have often questioned Durant’s leadership and motivation.

Some believe leaving the Golden State Warriors was an ego-driven mistake as if he wanted to prove that he didn’t need anybody else to win.

Recently, however, the two-time NBA champion dismissed that narrative, stating that he’s never cared about entering the GOAT debate:

“[Leaving Golden State] It wasn’t about: ‘I want to be the best ever. I want to be better than LeBron or [Michael Jordan].’ I don’t give a s**t about that. I want to wake up every day and do what I do. If we win, I know that stuff comes with me being the best that I can be,” Durant told the Washington Post. “I’m proud to be a part of the history of the league and pushing the game forward.”

So, even if he never wins a ring again, or if he’s not a fan favorite anymore, KD’s name will be a big part of NBA history forever.
