Kevin Durant has had incredibly high expectations ever since he was drafted 2nd overall in the 2007 NBA Draft. Durant won the Rookie of the Year award for the then Seattle Supersonics averaging 20.3 points per game.
His career has seen so many incredible highs, including back-to-back NBA Championships with the Golden State Warriors in 2017 and 2018. Durant also won an NBA MVP in 2014.
Even though Durant's current tenure with the Phoenix Suns has been underwhelming, he has continued to fill it up on a nightly basis. At 36 years old, Durant is averaging 26.9 points per game (tied for 7th in the league) in his 17th season.
And now, after a 34-point effort on Tuesday night against the Memphis Grizzlies, Durant has joined elite NBA company:

Here's the list of the seven other 30,000 point scorers in NBA history:
- LeBron James
- Kareem Abdul-Jabbar
- Karl Malone
- Kobe Bryant
- Michael Jordan
- Dirk Nowitzki
- Wilt Chamberlain
WOW!! That is some elite NBA company. Durant's efforts, unfortunately, were not enough to get a win against the Grizzlies, but he now sits with 30,008 points in his historic career.
