Kevin Durant Made NBA History In 76ers-Suns Game

On Wednesday evening, the Phoenix Suns are playing the Philadelphia 76ers (in Pennsylvania). 

During the game, 2014 MVP Kevin Durant made NBA history by moving ahead of Hall of Famer Shaquille O'Neal (28,596) for eighth on the all-time scoring list. 

Following O'Neal, the next player for Durant to pass will be Hall of Famer Wilt Chamberlain (31,419).

Durant is 35, but still remains among the top players in the NBA, and entered the evening with averages of 27.8 points, 6.7 rebounds, 5.4 assists and 1.2 blocks per contest while shooting 52.5% from the field and 41.9% from the three-point range in 61 games. 

The Suns entered the evening as the eighth seed in the Western Conference with a 39-29 record in 68 games. 

They have gone 5-5 over their last ten games and most recently lost to the Milwaukee Bucks by a score of 140-129. 

Durant had 11 points, nine rebounds, four assists, three steals and two blocks while shooting 4/10 from the field and 1/3 from the three-point range in 41 minutes of playing time.

Following the 76ers, the Suns will play their next game on Thursday evening when they host the Atlanta Hawks in Arizona.
