The Phoenix Suns concluded the 2024-25 NBA season with a disappointing 36-46 record, finishing 11th in the Western Conference and missing the playoffs for the first time since 2020. Despite a roster featuring stars like Kevin Durant, Devin Booker, and Bradley Beal, the team struggled with injuries and chemistry issues, leading to the dismissal of head coach Mike Budenholzer after just one season.

Amid the team's underperformance, speculation has grown regarding Durant's future with the Suns. Reports indicate that Phoenix explored trading him at the midseason deadline, and with one year remaining on his contract, it's unclear whether the franchise intends to retain him.

Adding to the intrigue, NBA insider Shams Charania revealed on The Pat McAfee Show that there was mutual interest between Durant and the San Antonio Spurs at the trade deadline. Following this update, a fan hopped on X to criticize Durant on social media:

"Would be the fifth franchise [Kevin Durant] joins. Can’t be a top 15 player all time if you’ve played for 5 franchises. Winners build dynasties. They don’t jump ship every time there’s a sign of a struggle."

Durant caught wind of the fan's comments and responded:

"Like I always say! Make your own rules up and curate this nba fantasy world the way u want. Enjoy that top 15 list."

Durant, a two-time Finals MVP, has faced criticism throughout his career for his team changes. He left the Oklahoma City Thunder to join the 73-9 Golden State Warriors, later teamed up with Kyrie Irving on the Brooklyn Nets, and was traded to the Suns after Irving's departure from the Nets.

Now, with potential trade discussions involving the Spurs, Durant could be on the move again.
