Kevin Durant’s Four-Word Message After His Three Preferred Trade Destinations Were Revealed

Kevin Durant has been with the Phoenix Suns for the last two and a half seasons, and they haven’t lived up to expectations. In the 15-time All-Star’s first year with the team, they lost in the second round of the playoffs. Since then, they’ve lost in the first round and failed to make the postseason this year.

Now, the Suns are close to trading Durant as they look to shake things up. On Sunday, ESPN NBA insider Shams Charania reported the 6-foot-11 forward's three "preferred trade destinations."

"The Miami Heat, San Antonio Spurs and Houston Rockets are 15-time All-Star Kevin Durant's preferred trade destinations out of Phoenix, sources tell ESPN," Charania wrote. "Those across the NBA have been made aware in recent days that those are the three teams that Durant would commit to long-term."

Kellan Olson of Arizona Sports replied to the post with a joke about Durant’s loyalty over the years, referencing when he left the Oklahoma City Thunder after eight seasons to join a 73-win Golden State Warriors team.

"Kevin Durant's lack of loyalty is showing yet again!" Olsen said. "For all the time he has spent paying state income taxes, to do them like this."

Durant came across Olson's joke and found it funny.

"Great post kellan lol," Durant stated.

It’s worth noting that Durant has spent his entire NBA career playing for teams located in states with income tax. The Heat, Spurs, and Rockets, however, are based in states with no income tax, which would be an added bonus for his take-home pay if he’s traded to one of them.

It’s unclear when the 2007 No. 2 overall pick will officially be moved, but for now, the Suns continue to weigh their options on trade proposals.

In addition to making 15 All-Star appearances, Durant is a two-time NBA champion, two-time Finals MVP, 2014 league MVP, and an 11-time All-NBA selection.

This past season, the 37-year-old averaged 26.6 points, 6.0 rebounds and 4.2 assists per game.
