Kevin Durant grabbed headlines on Tuesday when his latest appearance on “Up & Adams” with host Kay Adams went viral. The Houston Rockets star sat down for a candid conversation, but it was his playful invite that set social media on fire.

During the segment, Durant invited Adams to Houston for a Rockets game and promised Texas barbecue afterward. The lighthearted exchange quickly spread online, leaving fans debating whether it was just friendly banter or something more.

“I’m expecting you to come to a game,” Durant told Adams, before adding with a grin, “We going to a barbecue here in Texas when you get out here, alright?”

Adams pushed back, reminding Durant she had once attended one of his games but never even got a wave because he was sidelined with an injury. Durant admitted he had no idea she was there until the following week.

Rockets Star Draws Social Media Reactions

Fans wasted no time weighing in on Durant’s back-and-forth with Adams.

“I’ll pray for KD not to fail again this time,” one user joked, adding prayer and laughing emojis to drive the point home.

Another chimed in with, “Easy Money Sniper for a reason,” referencing Durant’s well-known nickname.

Some fans even took it further, saying he is “Easy Money Sniper on and off the court.”

The playful mood continued with another fan writing, “Lmao KD really moves like an ’88 kid to the core,” while someone else declared, “KD thinks he’s him.”

A different comment simply teased, “‘A BBQ’ ik what you are,” while another bluntly stated, “KD moving.”

One viewer noticed Adams’s reaction, writing, “Got her smiling fixing her hair she sliding to that BBQ,” followed by a string of laughing emojis.

Durant Talks Houston Move and Southern Hospitality

Beyond the viral clip, Durant also reflected on why Houston already feels like home.

“Because it’s Texas and it’s just Southern hospitality,” he said. “You just have to immerse yourself in the culture when you get down here.”

Durant joined the Rockets this offseason in a historic seven-team trade, marking the fifth stop in his NBA career. For him, Houston offers not only championship potential but also personal connections.

“My college teammate is one of the video coordinators here. Another is a scout in the front office. So, it’s like picking up old friendships,” Durant explained.

The Rockets are hoping Durant’s leadership and scoring ability can lift them into the NBA Finals conversation. With Alperen Sengun, Amen Thompson, Jabari Smith Jr.  Reed Sheppard on the roster, expectations are sky high.

Houston Faces Early Challenges

The Rockets’ season, however, is not without setbacks. Point guard Fred VanVleet recently suffered a torn ACL, leaving Durant and the rest of the roster with bigger roles to fill. Despite the blow, many analysts still view Houston as one of the deepest teams in the Western Conference.

Durant, who has two championships from his time with the Golden State Warriors, knows what it takes to win at the highest level. While fans debate his playful invite to Adams, he remains focused on bringing another ring to his resume.

Whether Adams takes Durant up on that BBQ invitation remains to be seen, but one thing is clear: Durant has already made his presence felt in Houston.
