Kevin Garnett chooses sides in Alex Rodriguez, Glen Taylor Timberwolves ownership feud

The Minnesota Timberwolves have had a great season this year and they are currently up 2-0 in their series with the Denver Nuggets, who won it all last year. The Timberwolves are the favorite to win the Western Conference right now after their hot start to this series. Things are going well on the court, but there is some drama happening with the ownership of the team.

Glen Taylor agreed to sell the Timberwolves to Alex Rodriguez and Marc Lore a few years ago, and there is now a legal battle happening because of Taylor going back on his word. They had a deal with Taylor that he backed out on, and that is why the legal battle is taking place.

Kevin Garnett started his NBA career with the Timberwolves when he was drafted back in 1995 in the first round. Glen Taylor bought the team in 1994, so him and Garnett go way back. Taylor was the owner when Garnett was drafted, but Garnett is on Alex Rodriguez and Marc Lore’s side in this dispute.

I f**k with Arod man, what they’ve built in Minnesota and the energy, and this team taking on Ant [Anthony Edwards] and Kat’s [Karl Anthony-Towns] personality bro, Arod and Marc built that s**t,” Kevin Garnett said on an episode of The Ticket and The Truth. “It took Glen Taylor 20 years and can’t even figure that out. This energy now that the city got, bro, man, this is what I’m talking about. This is what the city needs, this is what the Wolves fans want. So for Glen to get it back bro, I hope he’s still working with Mark and ARod because they did a tremendous job, you done see mother f**kers coming off the court hugging the mother f**king owner of the team, dapping and s**t. Yeah Arod knows, he knows, and Marc knows they have a dope a** vision, they’re going to turn this thing around, I hope this don’t slip out of their hands man straight up. If I’m Glen man I’m seeing what they did together, you can always work together you feel me.”

How does this affect the Timberwolves ownership dispute?

Kevin Garnett being on the side of Alex Rodriguez and Marc Lore in this dispute could have a big effect on things. Garnett is a Timberwolves legend, and the fans love him. If they see that he is on one side of the issue, there is a good chance that fans start to take the same side as him. There’s no guarantee that that happens, but it wouldn’t be surprising to see.

Garnett clearly credits Rodriguez and Lore for what the team is now, but Glen Taylor clearly isn’t satisfied with everything that they have done.

Taylor, however, was the owner during a lot of tough times for the Timberwolves. They are finally having a lot of success, and one of their former stars is giving the credit to Rodriguez and Lore. It’s going to be interesting to see how this whole situation ends.
