The Cleveland Cavaliers continue to be in a tough spot with Kevin Love, Chris Fedor of Cleveland.com explains.

With two years and $60 million left on Love’s deal, it’ll be difficult for the team to trade him (without attaching an asset to him) and with Love not willing to negotiate a buyout, the two sides could be stuck with each other for the upcoming season.

Cleveland added Evan Mobley in the draft and Lauri Markkanen via sign-and-trade, crowding the frontcourt. There were reports earlier in the summer that the club would reduce Love’s role and now, even without Larry Nance Jr. in the picture, minutes will be at a premium this season.

Finding a trade remains Love’s preference, though, as mentioned, it’ll be easier said than done. Cleveland has “periodically explored” deals with rival clubs but the organization hasn’t been able to find a deal to their liking.
