Key Player Ruled Out For Rockets-Warriors Game
USA TODAY Sports

On Monday evening, the Golden State Warriors  will host the Houston Rockets at the Chase Center.

For the game, the Warriors will remain without Gary Payton II.

The former Oregon State star missed the team's last game, so this will be his second straight out of action.

Via Anthony Slater of The Athletic on Sunday: "Gary Payton II remains out for the Warriors tomorrow night vs the Rockets. Trayce Jackson-Davis is questionable."

On November 18, the Warriors announced an update on Payton II.

Via The Warriors on November 18: "Gary Payton II, who exited Thursday’s game due to a left foot injury, underwent an MRI. The MRI did not show any structural damage and confirmed the injury as a strained muscle in his left foot."

Payton II has played in 12 games so far this season, and he is averaging 6.0 points, 3.0 rebounds, 1.0 assists and 1.2 steals per contest while shooting 45.3% from the field and 34.6% from the three-point range.

He is one of the team's best role players (and defenders).

They are in the middle of a six-game losing streak and 1-6 in the seven games they have hosted on their home floor at the Chase Center.

As for the Rockets, they are 6-5 in their first 11 games, which has them as the seventh seed in the Western Conference.
