Key Player Ruled Out For Warriors-Suns Game
USA TODAY Sports

On Wednesday evening, the Golden State Warriors  will be in Arizona to face off against Kevin Durant and the Phoenix Suns.

For the game, the Warriors will remain without one of their best role players, as Gary Payton II will miss his third straight game.

Via Anthony Slater of The Athletic: "Gary Payton II remains out tonight in Phoenix with a foot strain. Third straight missed game. Had been listed as questionable. Steve Kerr said a return is near."

Payton II has played in 12 games this season and is averaging 6.0 points, 3.0 rebounds, 1.0 assists and 1.2 steals per contest while shooting 45.3% from the field and 34.6% from the three-point range.

The Warriors are 7-8 in their first 15 games, which has them as the tenth seed in the Western Conference.

They are 3-7 in their previous ten games and most recently defeated the Houston Rockets by a score of 121-116.

The victory snapped a six-game losing streak.

Following the Suns, the Warriors will play their next game against the San Antonio Spurs (at home) on Friday.

The Warriors are 2-6 in the eight games they have hosted at the Chase Center and 5-2 in the seven games they have played on the road.

As for the Suns, they are 8-6 in their first 14 games and in the middle of a four-game winning streak.

They are 6-4 in their previous ten games and have gone 3-4 in the seven games they have hosted at home in Arizona.
