One of the Washington Wizards’ notable moves this summer was their acquisition of Cam Whitmore, whom they acquired alongside CJ McCollum and Kelly Olynyk in a three-team deal with the New Orleans Pelicans and the Houston Rockets.

Joining the Washington Wizards is a dream come true for Whitmore since this was his favorite NBA team growing up. The Maryland native vows to give his best for the team, starting next season.

“John Wall and Bradley Beal. I remember the playoff games when Paul Pierce hit that big shot; that was when “The Truth” (Paul Pierce) came out and so, it was a lot of memories throughout the Washington Wizards organization and now I’m here a couple years later so it’s kinda a surreal moment,” Whitmore said told Brandon “Scoop B” Robinson.

“I know as time goes on, we will be better. We’re all around the same age and pretty young and plus me and Bub (Carrington) grew up playing against each other, so yeah, it’s just a couple of young guns ready to work, and we’re very hungry to win basketball games, so that’s our job,” he added.

In the same interview, Washington Wizards forward Cam Whitmore said he’ll play with a huge chip on his shoulder next season, particularly against the Houston Rockets, who let him go to make space for Kevin Durant.

“I mean, Kevin Durant’s a fit. But at the end of the day, that calendar is marked when the day comes, and so it’s gonna be a good game,” Whitmore stated.

“I want to turn this whole organization around into a positive organization where fans will want to come to the games and fans will want to watch the Wizards play basketball,” he continued.
