The Kings are bringing back big man Precious Achiuwa, according to NBA insider Chris Haynes ( Twitter link), who reports that the two sides have agreed to terms on a two-year deal worth $11.5MM.

Following a stint with the Knicks, Achiuwa spent most of the 2025 offseason unsigned before agreeing to a non-guaranteed contract with Miami. He was waived by the Heat at the end of the preseason, then caught on with Sacramento on a minimum-salary deal a couple weeks later.

Although he joined the team after the season had already begun, Achiuwa quickly emerged as a rotation regular for the Kings, appearing in 73 games and starting 57 of them. The veteran forward/center averaged career highs in points (10.1), rebounds (6.7), and assists (1.4) per game while making 52.8% of his field goal attempts.

The 26-year-old has never been much of a shooter, with career averages of 29.9% on three-pointers and 59.6% from the free throw line, but he’s a versatile, athletic frontcourt player who can defend multiple positions and plays with a lot of energy. Sacramento reportedly made it a priority to re-sign him in unrestricted free agency this summer.

The Kings only had Achiuwa’s Non-Bird rights and the terms of his agreement suggest they’ll pay him more than those rights allow. That means his deal should come out of the mid-level exception or perhaps the bi-annual exception, which projects to be worth up to $11.23MM over two years.
