Knicks Collapse Late … Again!

Just when the New York Knicks have seemed to have finally ironed out their early-season struggles, games like Wednesday happen.

New York had a two-point lead in the final seconds, but a three-point swing on a foul from Josh Hart with three seconds left allowed the Chicago Bulls to escape with a 124-123 win at Madison Square Garden.

The Knicks trailed Chicago by 12 going into the first half but used a late run in the third quarter behind a strong 46 points from Karl-Anthony Towns and 24 points from Jalen Brunson.

The problem?

Chicago received an efficient 31 points from Zach Lavine and 16 points off the bench from Ayo Dosunmu. It was Coby White's 22 points and three free throws to end the contest, that gave the Bulls their fifth win of the season.

For New York, they have hovered under .500 for the most part this season. That's due in large part to the Knicks dropping their defensive rating to 19th in the league to this point through the first 11 games in the regular season.

The Knicks did have a chance to win on Wednesday night but Brunson's 15-foot shot was off the mark and sunk the Knickerbockers to a 5-6 mark early on in the season.

New York will be back on Friday for the start of a two-straight home series against the Brooklyn Nets this weekend. … with fans all saying the same thing about a problem that won’t go away.
