Knicks’ Fan Favorite Guard Named Potential Trade Candidate by NBA Insider

The New York Knicks are coming off an impressive season that saw them reach the Eastern Conference Finals for the first time since 2000.

Despite their success, New York elected to fire head coach Tim Thibodeau to begin the offseason and they eventually replaced him with two-time Coach of the Year winner Mike Brown.

Of course, the Knicks are set to bring back their core of Jalen Brunson, Karl-Anthony Towns, Josh Hart, OG Anunoby and Mikal Bridges next season and they also made some notable additions in free agency.

New York signed both Jordan Clarkson and Guerschon Yabusele this summer to upgrade their bench, which was a major problem for them last season, and they also still have one more roster spot open.

With these moves and the East being weakened due to injuries to some big names, the Knicks will enter next season expected to be one of the top teams in the conference.

Miles McBride named potential trade candidate for Knicks

While that may be the case, the Knicks could also still look to upgrade their roster either before the season starts or before the trade deadline and Hoops Wire’s Sam Amico named fan favorite guard Miles McBride as a potential trade candidate.

“For the Knicks, Miles McBride is a good player who sometimes can be the odd man out in a minutes crunch. That probably won’t improve after Jordan Clarkson signed on. That makes McBride the name to watch here,” Amico wrote.

Of course, McBride has played a key role off the bench for the Knicks over the past few seasons and has become one of the fan favorite players on New York’s roster.

Despite this, the addition of Clarkson will eat into his minutes next season and it has also been reported that the Knicks may use their final roster spot to sign another veteran guard, which would also be a hit to McBride’s playing time.

If that is the case, the 24-year-old guard may be the odd man out in New York and there is no doubt that other teams around the NBA would show interest in him due to his three-point shooting if the Knicks do end up looking to move him.
