Knicks Insider Reveals Expected Contract For Former Raptors Forward O.G. Anunoby
Brad Penner-USA TODAY Sports

Former Toronto Raptors forward O.G. Anunoby is about to get paid this summer.

He is reportedly expected to re-sign with the New York Knicks for $35 million annually on a multi-year deal, according to SNY’s Ian Begley.

Anunoby is expected to decline his player option and become a free agent where he can sign for that amount.

The Knicks can sign Anunoby on a contract worth up to $245 million over five years, should the organization be forced to offer him a maximum contract.

The Philadelphia 76ers are reportedly interested in Anunoby and could make him a big offer. Anunoby played under Nick Nurse with the Toronto Raptors.

The Knicks traded for Anunoby on on Dec. 31, 2023 when they sent RJ Barrett, Immanuel Quickley and the No. 31 pick in this year’s draft (via the Detroit Pistons) to the Raptors.

The trade so far has worked out well for both teams. The Raptors now have a nice young trio of Scottie Barnes, Barrett and Quickley. Meanwhile, the Knicks were 20-3 with Anunoby in the regular season. New York made the Eastern conference Semifinals where they were eliminated by the Indiana Pacers in seven games.

Unfortunately Anunoby suffered a hamstring injury in Game 2 which kept him out until Game 7. He tried to suit up, but after 5 minutes of action he was sat out for the rest of the game as the hamstring still bothered him.

Expect the Knicks to do whatever it takes to lock Anunoby up this offseason.
