The New York Knicks faced a must-win situation on Thursday night as they took on the Indiana Pacers in Game 5 of the Eastern Conference Finals.

New York was able to use their home court at Madison Square Garden to their advantage as they picked up a dominant 111-94 victory to force Game 6 on Saturday night.

The Knicks got off to a hot start in the first quarter and never looked back, eventually taking a 20-point lead at one point, their largest lead of the series, before the Pacers made a slight comeback that fell short.

Jalen Brunson led the way in the victory for New York as he ended the game with 32 points, five rebounds and five assists.

Karl-Anthony Towns also had an incredible performance as he recorded 24 points, 13 rebounds and three assists.

Of course, Towns entered the game listed as questionable due to a knee contusion but he was able to play through the injury in Thursday’s victory.

After the game, Towns met with the media where he was asked when he knew he would be able to play in Game 5.

“I looked at the game and it said Game 5 do-or-die. That was pretty much all I needed to see,” Towns said about playing through his injury in Game 5 on Thursday.

Towns’ status was never really in doubt heading into Thursday’s win-or-go-home game as he was able to play through the injury after he suffered it in the fourth quarter of Game 4, especially with the Knicks’ season on the line.

The star center also did not seem to be too bothered by his knee injury as he put together another great game and he will now have a full day of rest before Game 6 on Saturday where he and the Knicks will look to force the series back to New York for Game 7.
