There are only four teams remaining with a shot to win the NBA championship this season and among them are the New York Knicks.

New York currently trails the Indiana Pacers in the Eastern Conference Finals 2-1 but they have a chance to tie up the series on Tuesday night with a victory before heading back to Madison Square Garden for Game 5.

If the Knicks are unable to make it to the NBA Finals this season it would be a massive disappointment but they have built a roster that is capable of competing for titles in the near future.

Of course, the Knicks will look to upgrade their roster in the offseason and they could do so in the 2025 NBA Draft despite only having the 50th overall selection.

CBS Sports’ Kyle Boone has projected the Knicks to take a perfect Tom Thibodeau player with the 50th pick as he has them selecting Micah Peavy out of Georgetown.

“Peavy was a workhorse last season with Georgetown averaging 37 minutes per game and starting in all 32 of his appearances,” Boone wrote.

Boone mentions that Peavy was a ‘workhorse’ last season, which is exactly what Thibodeau loves out of his players as his coaching style requires his players to play a ton of minutes during every game, which was seen again this season by both Josh Hart and Mikal Bridges.

Peavy had a great senior season at Georgetown last year, which was his first with the Hoyas after spending three seasons at TCU from 2021-2024.

Last season, the 23-year-old guard averaged 17.2 points, 5.8 rebounds, 3.6 assists and 2.3 steals per game while shooting 48.1% from the field and 40.0% from three-point range.

With these stats, Peavy’s game is reminiscent of Hart’s by way that he can stuff the stat sheet in large minutes, which would be a great fit with Thibodeau’s Knicks.

Despite this, Peavy’s incredible senior season could move him up draft boards but if he is around for New York, there is no doubt he could be the perfect player for them.
