Knicks Schedule Released: 5 Biggest Games to Watch

10/25 vs. Boston

(7:30 p.m. ET, ESPN)

With higher expectations than any season in the past decade, the Knicks start their 2023-24 campaign at home against the rival Boston Celtics. New York and Boston previously opened the 2021-22 season at Madison Square Garden, with the hosts prevailing in a 138-134 double-overtime thriller thanks in part to Julius Randle's 35-point effort. Last season's Knicks resurgence featured a 3-1 mark against the Celtics, including a career night for Immanuel Quickley in Beantown.

11/4 @ Milwaukee & 11/24 vs. Miami

(both 7:30 p.m. ET, ESPN)

Two big games for in-season glory prove more than worthy of occupying one spot.

New York will take center stage on the first night of NBA Cup play on Nov. 3 as they'll face the Milwaukee Bucks, the defending Eastern Conference top seed, on the road. It'll be part of a doubleheader on the Worldwide Leader, as the Dallas Mavericks face the reigning NBA champion Denver Nuggets in a Rocky Mountain nightcap.

In addition to the showdown against the Bucks, the Knicks will also travel to the nation's capital to take on the Washington Wizards in part two on Nov. 17. New York's group stage closes with visits from the Miami Heat on Nov. 24 and the Charlotte Hornets on Nov. 28. The Black Friday showdown against the Heat, a rematch of last year's Eastern Conference semifinals during Miami's run to a conference title, will be the first time Manhattan and South Beach do battle since that six-game series.

12/25 vs. Milwaukee

(12 p.m. ET, ESPN)

Giannis Antetokounmpo and the Bucks return to the Big Apple for another bout with the Knicks. No team has played on Christmas more than the Knicks and the tradition will continue this year: 

It's a rematch of the 2018 holiday festivities, where the Bucks beat the Knicks 109-95. A New York lineup featuring Tim Hardaway Jr., Kevin Knox, and Emmanuel Mudiay was no match for a 30-point, 14-rebound double-double for Antetokounmpo en route to his first of two MVP awards.

2/3 vs LA Lakers

(8:30 p.m. ET, ABC)

It's the final year of LeBron James' contract with the Los Angeles Lakers, which could mean it's his final trip to MSG with the purple-and-yellow. Even as he continues to play at a high level, James' career probably doesn't have many years left, so every time he gets a chance to play at the Mecca is something worth noting, especially if it only comes once a season.

Last year, New York and Los Angeles split their annual pair for the third consecutive season, with James' Lakers prevailing at MSG.

2/29 vs. Golden State

(7:30 p.m. ET, TNT)

It's not every day nor year that the calendar says Feb. 29, and the Knicks get to celebrate the extra day with Stephen Curry and the Golden State Warriors coming to town for their annual visit. Though the return to San Francisco awaits just two weeks later, the Knicks-Warriors matchup, another interconference split last season, will mark Donte DiVincenzo's first showdown with Golden State since inking a contract with the Knicks earlier this summer.
